Heather will explore the Reggio Emilia Pedagogical philosophy that views teaching not as a delivery of predetermined knowledge; but as a dynamic research-based process. We will embrace the unexpected, foster curiosity and value the hundred languages of children. 

 

Heather Jackson is our Research Director at The Sunflower School. Heather travels all around our province to lead professional development on the Reggio Inspired philosophy, working with Child Care Centres, EarlyONs and School Boards. 

 

Heather has been to Italy twice on the North American and first Canadian study tour of the schools of Reggio Emilia. Heather has most recently written her first book “Actions in Play: Weaving play schemas and inquiry based learning and project work.”
